Every personal computer or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level program that communicates with the hardware equipment, including peripherals such as a mouse and a printer, and any applications that are currently installed on the system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the OS. On a server, each and every application runs within the parameters set by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etcetera. This is valid for both standard site scripts and server-side software like a media server. In case a virtual server is created on a physical one, there can be two different Operating Systems, referred to as guest OS and host OS, so that you'll be able to set up a different software environment on a single machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers

We offer you as many as 3 different Linux distributions for the Operating System of our VPS servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are some of the most stable and reliable OSs on the market and we supply all 3 instead of only one because we realize that you might want to install some software which has specific requirements for the Operating System it'll run on. The latter is because each of the three Operating Systems has a huge support community behind it and there're different software packages you may install on the web hosting server. Your OS selection will also determine exactly what hosting Control Panel can be set up on the VPS if you want to use one and for that reason we offer several Control Panels as well. In case you decide that you need to have a different OS, our technical support can quickly wipe the existing one and install the one that you'd like. We also offer an optional service to have the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers

The dedicated server plans that we offer come with as many as three different Operating Systems to select from. They are all Linux distributions - Ubuntu, CentOS and Debian, and not only do they have no license fees, but they’re also known as the most stable and risk-free OSs. We provide three different ones as each of them is backed by a separate community. The packages which you can add on your server are different and this could matter if you want to install some piece of software with particular requirements regarding the hosting environment. In this light, the internet hosting Control Panel that you can select for the dedicated server also depends on the Operating System that you will select. You may choose any of the three Operating Systems during the order process, however if necessary, we can always set up the server once again with a different one upon your request. As an optional service that you can add to the package at any moment, we can update your OS regularly so as to keep it as risk-free as possible.
